Scholarships...
Mecklenburg
Electric Cooperative offers nine $500 scholarships to high
school seniors whose parents or legal guardians are members
of the Cooperative. The recipients of these scholarships can
use the scholarships to further their education by attending
an accredited institution of higher learning to obtain a
two-year Associates or four-year Bachelor degree.

Selection Process...
Each high school will appoint a committee consisting of an
administrator, a teacher and the 12th grade guidance counselor. Once the
student is selected, biographic information, selection rational and a
senior picture will be sent to Mecklenburg Electric Cooperative.
Purpose
To provide scholarships to members' children who are seniors in high
school and who plan to further their education by attending an
accredited institution of higher learning to obtain a two year
Associates or four year Bachelor degree.
Student Scholarship Criteria
Student must
be a graduating senior and pursuing an associate or baccalaureate
degree at an accredited institute of higher learning.
Student has
maintained at least a 3.0 grade point average (based on 4.0 being
an "A") throughout his or her high school career.
Student has
demonstrated good citizenship qualities by having exhibited
commendable leadership abilities and exemplary school spirit.
Student's parents
or legal guardians must be members of Mecklenburg Electric
Cooperative.
Student
consideration should be based on need and unrewarded merit.
Amount of
Scholarship...
A $500 scholarship will be awarded to a graduating
senior who meets the student scholarship criteria from the following
high schools within our geographic service territory.
