Opt Out Information: |
|
|
|
Under
the new Virginia Energy Choice program, Mecklenburg Electric
Cooperative must provide to any licensed Competitive Service
Provider a "Mass List" that will include your name, account number,
address and history of electricity use. If you do not want your
account information released, you can "Opt-out" by simply filling
out the above form and submitting the results to our office. If you
need more information, see the Deregulation Info link on this site
or click the option "Need more information" and a customer
service representative will be glad to call you and answer any
questions that you may have. Opting out does not affect your
eligibility for energy choice or prohibit you from choosing a
Competitive Service Provider. |

Virginia’s electric and
natural gas industries are changing. Beginning January 1, 2004, you
can choose your energy supplier. You may begin receiving calls from
telemarketers representing competitive service providers encouraging
you to switch energy suppliers. You may also begin receiving similar
offers in the mailbox.
Since you are currently being served by Mecklenburg Electric
Cooperative (MEC), you may wish to continue purchasing your energy
from us as you always have, or you have the option to seek another
energy supplier. Either way, MEC will continue to deliver the energy
to your home or business, maintain the system of wires, poles, and
transformers, and repair your service in the event of an outage. |
