Safety First

The Safety Mission Statement adopted by the Safety Committee on 11-10-2008

“Our mission is to promote and nurture a safety program at Mecklenburg Electric Cooperative that encourages our employees to hold themselves and each other responsible for safe working practices. We will do so by fostering a safe, healthy and environmentally sound workplace and establishing policies and procedures that will best protect our employees, our Members and our communities. We will seek out solutions for safety concerns and do everything reasonable to create and maintain a culture of safety and accountability in our organization.”

Power lines bring the convenience of electricity to your home. Carelessness around power lines, however, can cause serious injury or death. When working or playing near overhead or underground power lines, please be cautious. Always know what to do to avoid electrical contact.

At home, make sure all family members know the location of the master switch on the electrical control panel and how to turn it off in case of an emergency.
