Connect and Empower

When attending the Connect and Empower event, it’s important to understand the registration process so that you’ll be able to take advantage of all the benefits of being a member of MEC and/or a customer of EMPOWER Broadband. Please note that you must be the legal account holder to register, receive any gifts, or be eligible for prizes. Other family members living in the same household are welcome and encouraged to attend the event; however, they are ineligible to register as official participants, which means they will not be able to receive the welcoming gift or enter the drawing for a $250 bill credit.
This requirement is in place to ensure that all account holders have a fair opportunity to receive a substantive gift and a reasonable chance to win one of four $250 bill credits. These objectives would not be met if everyone from each household were eligible to register.
To check your eligibility for registration, please look at your bill. If your name is listed as the Customer Name in the Account Information section at the top left of your bill, you can register upon arrival, receive the welcoming gift, and enter the drawing for a bill credit. If the account has two names listed in the Customer Name box, only one of the account holders can register, and they will only receive one welcoming gift and one opportunity to win a bill credit.
Additionally, a surviving spouse or family member cannot register when the account is still in the name of a deceased individual. To be eligible, a request must be made to change the account name to that of the spouse or family member at least one week before the event.
