Mecklenburg Electric Cooperative recently hosted a hot dog lunch to reward the students who reached their reading goals in the Accelerated Reader program at Chase City and Clarksville elementary schools. John C. Lee Jr., outgoing MEC president and CEO, addressed the students in attendance, emphasizing the necessity for good reading skills in every profession and encouraging them to continue in the AR program. After lunch, students got to talk to lineworkers about what they do, and at the end of the program, each student was recognized and received a special gift.
